Here are the answers to the questions we receive most often. If you don't find what you're looking for, contact us directly at cookingclasstirana@gmail.com or via WhatsApp.

What is included in the cooking class at Cooking Class Tirana?

Every class includes all ingredients, hands-on cooking instruction from a local chef, cultural storytelling about Albanian food history, and a shared meal at the end. The Traditional Albanian Cooking Class also includes a generous spread of traditional starters (pickles, salad, cornbread, jams and lots more), unlimited wine and rakia throughout the entire experience, and laughter, music, and sometimes spontaneous dancing — a full immersion in Albanian hospitality & culture.

How much does a cooking class in Tirana cost?

Prices start at €30 per person for the Ravioli Making Class and range up to €60 per person for specialty classes like Mexican Nights and Italian nights. The Traditional Albanian Cooking Class — our most popular experience, with unlimited wine and rakia included — is €35 per person. Booking directly at cookingclasstirana.com always gives you the best available price.

Where is Cooking Class Tirana located?

We are located on Rruga Bardhok Biba in central Tirana, Albania. The kitchen is spacious, fully equipped, and easy to reach on foot from most hotels in the city centre. Exact directions are sent with your booking confirmation. You can also find us on Google Maps by searching 'Cooking Class Tirana'.

Is the Albanian cooking class suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. All of our classes are designed for participants with no prior cooking experience. The chef guides you through every step clearly and at a relaxed pace. Guests with more cooking experience also enjoy the classes because the focus is on authentic Albanian technique and cultural context — things you won't find in a regular cooking class elsewhere.

What traditional Albanian dishes will I cook?

In the Traditional Albanian Cooking Class you will cook Village Chicken with Pershesh, Burek with Tomato and onion, and Sheqerpare — traditional Albanian syrup-drenched cookies. The class also includes a generous spread of traditional Albanian starters. Unlimited wine and rakia are served throughout, so the experience is as festive as it is educational. All dietary restrictions can be accommodated — just specify when booking ahead of class.

How long does a cooking class last?

The Traditional Albanian Cooking Class runs for approximately 4 hours — there is a lot to cook, eat, drink, and enjoy. Other classes such as pasta and pizza nights last around 2.5 hours. We offer two time slots: a Lunch class starting at 11 AM and a Dinner class starting at 5 PM.

Can I book a private cooking class in Tirana for a group?

Yes. We host private cooking classes and events for groups of all sizes, up to 100 people. Private bookings are popular for birthday celebrations, corporate team-building events, hen parties, and friend group gatherings. Contact us at cookingclasstirana@gmail.com or call +355 69 394 394 8 for a custom proposal.

What types of cooking classes are available?

We offer a wide variety of classes throughout the month: Traditional Albanian Cooking Class (with unlimited wine and rakia), Pasta & Tiramisu Night, Pizza Class (Napoletana and Romana), Ravioli Making Class, Mexican Night, Vietnamese Cooking Class, Greek Night, Indonesian Night, Kimchi & Byrek Workshop, and Sourdough Class. The full schedule is at cookingclasstirana.com and on our instagram page.

Is a cooking class a good activity for couples in Tirana?

A cooking class is one of the best couple activities in Tirana. Cooking together is naturally collaborative and fun, and it ends with a shared meal with unlimited wine and rakia. Many guests tell us it was the highlight of their trip to Albania. Our Ravioli Class — where couples make heart-shaped pasta together — is particularly popular for romantic evenings.

How do I book a cooking class in Tirana?

The easiest way to book is directly at cookingclasstirana.com/book-now-cct — browse the schedule, choose your class (Lunch at 11 AM or Dinner at 5 PM), and pay online. You can also book via WhatsApp at +355 69 394 394 8, or through GetYourGuide. Direct bookings always receive the best price.

What is byrek and how is it made?

Byrek (also spelled burek) is Albania's most iconic food — a flaky, layered pastry made from hand-stretched filo dough, filled with cottage cheese and spinach, tomato and onion, or minced meat, then baked until golden and crisp. It is eaten at every meal. Making burek from scratch involves stretching the dough paper-thin by hand — a traditional skill passed down through generations. In our Traditional Albanian Cooking Class, you will make it yourself — alongside unlimited wine and rakia to keep spirits high.

What are the best things to do in Tirana for tourists?

The top things to do in Tirana include: taking a cooking class (with unlimited wine and rakia) to experience Albanian food culture hands-on, visiting Bunk'Art 1 and Bunk'Art 2, exploring the New Bazaar (Pazari i Ri), walking through Blloku, visiting the House of Leaves museum, taking the Dajti Ekspres cable car up Dajti Mountain, and discovering the city's famous street art. Cooking Class Tirana is consistently rated the city's #1 cultural experience.
